Pradeep Kumar, classically trained singer and guitarist has contributed, in many ways, to some very memorable moments in popular Indian cinema. Ranging from “Aagayam Theepidicha” in the film Madras to “Maya nadhi” in Kabali. He has sung over 50 songs in commercial movies, many of them, chart toppers.
He spent his early years learning the nuances of Carnatic Music(traditional classical music of South India) under Trichy J. Venkatraman. Pradeep’s first experiments with giving Indian music a western influenced context were successful, with bands Yodhakaa and La Pongal.
Pradeep then founded his pet project “Poorvaa Productions” with the intention of exploring and strengthening the connections between art forms and cultures from around the world.
For the LIAF 2020 Pradeep will be presenting an exclusive set of Carnatic renditions accompanied by stalwarts Dr. Jyotsna Srikanth on violin B.C. Manjunath on mridangam and Sunaad Anoor on kanjira.
